You're easy-breezy, and I'm Japanesy; Soon you'll mean exactly nothing to me - Utada Hikaru

So that was Friday. Fun stuff.

I had to work 11 - 5 Saturday. Actually, it became 10:30 to 5, because we were going to have this manager's meeting Thursday morning, but no one showed up, so Dave moved it to Saturday morning. I got there and witnessed utter chaos. It was about 10:30, and the truck hadn't been moved. At all. Which isn't good. It also looked like a bomb had hit the place. Not literally.

We had our little manager meeting. Dave fed us a bunch of bullshit about Man-Hour Yields, and basically just reinforced our perceptions of him as a jerk-ass dipshit tightwad who really just wants to squeeze everyone he can for everything he can.

Rick managed to get the truck put up. Barely. At one point, there were like eight boxes of stuff just sitting in the back all strewn about. If Dave had gone back there, he would have had a fit. And been twice as big an ass as he normally is. The stuff in the walk-in freezer was not in neat stacks; they had to climb over all these boxes to get stuff.

So he eventually left, and things went okay. I think. I do hate Dave so much. So I finally left. Oh, one vital piece of background - Thursday morning, Sterling came by and gave me an invitation to his party on Saturday. It's (was) a birthday party for his fiancè, Alana. Not Rosenwasser. The weird one who hung out with Elizabeth Earles. I also asked Lilie if she'd like to go to this party with me, and surprisingly (not really) enough, she agreed.

So it starts at 8:00; I said I'd pick her up 'bout then, then we'd head over. But I was really, really bored, so I headed over to NexLevel to kill some time. She calls about 7:45 or so, wondering where I was. Slight miscommunication. She didn't believe I was about to leave, mainly because they have some nice metal pads there. But she did head over, 'cause she was really bored too.

I took some more pictures at NexLevel (to follow), though Josh took even more. Lilie eventually showed up. There was one humorous moment - I told Derrick that Lily was on her way over, and he said that no, she was at some church thing with her parents. He, of course, meant Lily, the Asian chick from the previous picture post.

Right.

So she shows up. She was dressed as an army brat (?). White tank top, army pants, army hat, and a dollar super-soaker. She also used some of my glitter. We hung around there a little bit while Janelle brought me a fresh shirt, so I wasn't all sweaty. Then we left and arrived at Sterling's a little bit later.

HAHA! Got you!!

There was a map on the flyer he'd given me, but it wasn't very good. In fact, we drove around the area (near Roland's house) for a while before pegging down two likely places. I went into the first one, and sure enough, there was a group of guys around a bonfire. I asked them if this was Sterling's party, and there were like, 'Nope.'

Oh, by the way, this was... over an hour into our quest.

I even stopped by the gas station and went the phone book, calling all the Marlows in there, to no avail. I tried getting ahold of Lauren to get ahold of Jeff, who'd have been able to help, but that didn't work. Nor did reaching Michael to find Lauren (he was at Renfest all weekend). I even talked to Rose, but she wasn't able to help either. Eventually, we found the right place. But they said the party had just been moved to where he did boy scout stuff. Which kinda made sense, 'cause he was like an Eagle Scout or something. Or used to be.

So I immediately thought 'VFW Hall'! Sure enough, there was a large party going on there.

Sigma Nu's party.

So I called Rose again, and talked to her, and Katie somehow came up with a second location for scout stuff - on McCartney Lane. We went over there, but somehow missed it. So we pulled over on the square and hung out there for a bit, then called Shelley. We were going to head over there, though Lilie could only be out for another hour or so, since she was kinda tired. Or had to work early. Probably both. We picked up some Jack in the Box for her and Chris, and while we were in the line, I finally talked to Jarrod. It was in the place Katie told us about, which we never found.

We headed over to Shelley's and caught the second half of 'Mean Girls'. Which was still funny. Then Lilie and I headed home. Well, that's not entirely true. I took Lilie back to her car, which was parked on the square, and she headed home. I didn't have to work Sunday morning - I was managing the 5 - C shift - so I went back to NexLevel and hung out for a while. Ran into Krysta of all people, who had an... interesting Halloween costume (you'll have to wait for the pictures to be up to see). I found out she had played some DDR, and we did so then. She's... all right, I guess, for a beginner. Played some Halo as well, but I got my butt kicked. I hadn't ever really played on the map in question, but that only covers so much ass-sucking. They were just better than me. Especially with me being so out of practice.

Then the whole thing kinda degenerated into standing around outside, talking amongst ourselves and commenting on people that walked past. Ray drove by, and some guys walking by shouted at him. I eventually decided to walk back to my truck and go home. On the way back, I swear I got a wolf-whistle. There was *no one* else around. I ran into Beverly as well, who's working at... some bar or something. Making decent money, which is good. Came home, and eventually crashed.

I just feel so bad for dragging Lilie around for so long with no actual results. I mean, she came *all the way* from her house, and got dressed up and everything, for what? Riding in my truck for two hours? We did stop by Sonic at one point, but she wouldn't go in, and Shelley was a little busy and couldn't come out - Rudy was in one of his moods as it was - so that was a total bust as well.

I mean, she's acting all cool about it, saying it's no big deal, but that doesn't really make me feel any better. It's another thing that mocks me late at night - I mean, sure, it's not nearly as bad as some of the blunders I've pulled - there've been a lot, and a lot of them have been really, really stupid - but this one still makes me angry at myself. Argh.
