And the system, we'll set to overflow

Made my first student loan payments today. That was fun. Not really. Only 119 more to go. Now, if my transmission could just be moderately damaged, as opposed to requiring a complete replacement...

Well, here goes. The past few days, we haven't really done anything. Moved a couple things, but that's about it. Today, today is when the storm breaks. We're going to open tonight, take some orders. We've got to get everything set up, move some more stuff in, I'll start meeting my crew for the first time... it's going to be crazy. More later... but it's going to be okay, because I am the storm.

Hear that voice, it's the calm of your heart

This post is going to be sporadic and jumpy. Deal with it.

So I finally got to see my store. It's very much still under construction. When I was there, they were putting in the lights in the cieling, working on the walkin, all kinds of stuff. There were maybe 20 or so people working. I ended up just cleaning up the makeline (It's just like the one at Diana's store, blegh!!) and the oven (which is at a 45-ish degree angle to the cut table - double blegh!!). Eileen rode around in my truck a little, which was, well, fun. Not really. I ended up not being able to go to the work party, which Murph was quite adamant that I had to go to.

Oh yeah, Chelsea's in the shop right now. Transmission problems, which should be fun. So I'll be taking Mom's car to San Antonio tomorrow, which I'm not sure about. I guess I'll just show up about 9 or so, see what's going on.

So yeah, things are getting off to a great start.

Tried to download and run the D&D: Stormreach Online beta stress test, got a horrendous framerate - downright unplayable. Didn't help that David's ran flawlessly. So I can't really comment on the game just yet. Got my video card and processor overclocked now, though I'm waiting on an update of the Rage 3D utility for the 5.12 catalyst drivers. It's kind of annoying - I can pull 60+ fps in WoW, even with Windows Media Player playing a full length movie in the background. Update: Just hit 99 fps. Yeah.

So anyway. Talked to Ambra a little today. Kinda. I don't really remember what was said - I was half asleep the whole time. So for all those people asking me what's going on with that, yeah, I don't know. Probably nothing. Which accurately describes both my current social life and any prospects.

So I'm in kind of a holding pattern right now. I can't really start looking for a place in San Antonio until I find a new roommate for David. I really don't want to, I'll admit - we seem to get along so very well. It'll be a shame to lose that. But, ah, well. And I probably won't be able to find anyone until the students start coming back in January. That, and he's going to be gone for a few weeks, which makes things hard. Then I have to find a roommate and/or a place in San Antonio, preferably near the store. Once I take that step, it gets a lot harder to undo things. It'd still be really cool if Carrie moved down here and we got a place. Kind of random, but really cool.

So, yeah. Blegh. Can I get a reset button? That'd be nice.

Please hold me, don't walk away

So I'm officially a general manager today. Go me, I guess. It's funny - I don't really know *anything* right now, and I'm going to be going in fairly blind Tuesday. I'm much more worried about the housing situation than the work situation. I really need to find David a new roommate to finish out my lease, and one that he gets along with really well. Then, I have to find a roommate in San Antonio, or figure out if I want to get my own place. Which would be interesting, to say the least. Carrie jokingly told me she'd move down here with me, which would be awesome! I'm having trouble focusing on anything right now, so I'm going to cut it short here.

Oh, got a myspace thingy:
ajackalope. Let there be much rejoicing.

Just slip into my skin while I'm lying inside you

So work's been interesting lately. I'm apparently under heavy scrutiny for the GM position at Encino, which would be a change, to say the least. It'd be more money, but Ray and Jess are doing their best to make sure I'm aware of the extra levels of magnitude of stress that comes along with it. So we'll see how that goes. This week has been interesting - had 5-C Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Those went fine, for the most part. Closed with Mike Tuesday and Wednesday, so naturally, Lilie came up on Tuesday after we closed. Mike and I had an interesting conversation about her after she left, which is one of the two main reasons I didn't get home 'til well after 5 am. Wait. That part's true, but Mike came home with me and we watched Anchorman, which is a hilarious movie. The first time through, it wasn't that great, but it's grown on me. Anyway... was supposed to have yesterday through tomorrow off, but for some reason - and I still don't know what it is - I took a 5-11 shift today for Shelly. But I still have tomorrow off, and I think we're going to do an MST3K night, if I can shake the funk I'm in right now.

Got Firefly; I've watched the pilot and first episode so far. It's terrific. David doesn't really like it, but Rose and I think it's awesome. To be fair, though, I can tell why it was cancelled.

So I'm going to New Orleans on Monday. Apparently, the Domino's there is doing mad crazy business - 6 to 8 thousand a day (4,000 is a really busy day for us), and broke 51k last week (our record week is 21k). We leave Monday morning, and get back Thursday night. I'm not incredibly excited about it, but I'll be glad to get away for a while, even if it's only for a few days. I also just learned that we get *paid* vacation after a year of employment. That'll rock.

WoW is going okay. I quit Quintessence on Mal'Ganis after realizing that's it's much more EC than OH. Some of the EC people started talking about it being 'against the rules' to have an alt in another guild, since it would be conflict of interest, and not let you put 100% of your dedication in-game towards that guild.

Yeah.

So I said something along the lines of 'This guild used to be really cool, but it sucks now.' and /gquit. Switched over to Ihatebrooms and did it again. It was completely EC people on when I did it, so they probably didn't even know who I was. I felt kinda naked being unguilded, and realized that a lot of end game stuff almsot requires one, so I sent a message to Ironforge general that said something like "Looking for a guild that doesn't suck." A few minutes later, someone from Grief contacted me and told me that I could join their guild, though if I sucked, I'd get kicked back out. Which is awesome. Anyway, Gnometastic's at 57 now, and almost, almost to 58. Finishing up in Winterspring, not sure where I'll head after that. I really, really don't want to do the Plaguelands, so I might head to Silithus and check out the action there. Haven't played Ihatebrooms since she hit 15 and went to Redridge. Ulkesh is at 32 on Emerald Dream, and completely broke. Nothing surprising there.

I love the new changes they've made to warlocks. They weren't *that* big. Made a few destruction talents affect Soul Fire; and changed Death Coil to do more damage, cause a 3 second unbreakable 'horror' effect, and have a TWO MINUTE cooldown. It's awesome now. Rogues are freaking out about it, which makes it even better.

Been toying around with Mods as well. David requsted one a few days ago that plays a sound clip - specifically, "Commence Primary Ignition!" whenver nightfall procs. It's pretty cool. Tweaked ClassBuffHelper to include Fear and Banish. Would be nice if the bar was movable, but I haven't tackled that part yet. I haven't done anything with my player database mod.

Had a really, really bizarre dream last night/this morning (I got back from Joe's at like 7am or so, and crashed fairly soon thereafter.) Basically, I drove Rose and her boyfriend (!) to Wal-Mart. Her boyfriend wasn't anyone I know, but he was Mexican and poorly educated (not suggesting those two have anything to do with each other, just listing traits). They were meeting a Planned Parenthood-esque individual there, and signing things that said he had raped (!) her to obtain some birth control pills. Then, I was in line to purchase some juice, and saw Mindy at another register. Mentioned it to the cashier, who said that she didn't like Mindy, 'cause Mindy had asked her to leave a cabinet open so she could steal some contraceptives, or something along those lines. Overall, a fairly weird dream.

Might be buying some new core components from Joe - an AGP video card, Athlon 2600+, 512 Ram that's optimized to work in pairs, and the board for all that. Oh, and the case. I'll be getting a really good price, and it'll be a fairly significant upgrade from my Pentium Celeron (quit laughing!) 2 ghz.

I need to do a major post about Lilie, 'cause a lot has happened, but I'm not sure what all I can post, since I don't want to talk about anybody else's business. So we'll see how I'm going to pull that one off, given that this is so cathartic for me.
